Welcome to Calyia. By booking a yacht with us, you agree to the
following terms and conditions. These terms ensure a safe, transparent, and enjoyable charter experience.

Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions
Charterer: The client booking and renting the yacht.
Owner: CALYIA YACHTING or the entity owning the yacht.
Captain: The person in command of the yacht, if applicable.

2. Charter Period
Your charter period includes specific boarding and return times. Boarding early or returning late may result in additional fees unless previously agreed upon. For any extensions, please contact us in advance.

3. Payment Terms
Booking Deposit: To secure your booking, a deposit of [50% of the total charter fee] is required at the time of reservation.
Final Payment: The remaining balance is due [4–6 weeks before departure].
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit may be required at check-in to cover any potential damages. It will be returned within 7 to 10 working days after the charter, provided no damage has occurred.

4. Cancellation Policy/ General rules
Cancellation by the Charterer: If you need to cancel, please refer to the cancellation schedule below:
More than 61 days before departure: Refund of deposit minus an administration fee.
Less than 60 days before departure: Partial or no refund, depending on timing.
Cancellation by Us: In rare cases where cancellation is necessary due to weather, mechanical failure, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will offer a full refund or an alternative yacht (subject to availability).
Force Majeure: Circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or severe weather, may impact the charter. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule or provide a fair solution.

  • Important: Cancellation policies may vary according to the vessel’s owning company. The applicable cancellation policy will be communicated to the charterer following booking confirmation and PRIOR to any deposit payment.

5. Inclusions and Exclusions
Included in Charter Fee: Standard provisions, yacht fuel, crew (if applicable), linen, and necessary port fees.
Excluded from Charter Fee: Food and beverages, additional fuel, docking fees at private marinas, gratuities for the crew, and personal insurance.

6. Captain and Crew
Authority of Captain: The captain has complete authority over the yacht’s safety, navigation, and operation. Charterers and guests are required to follow the captain’s instructions at all times.
Bareboat Charters: If booking a bareboat charter, you must have a valid sailing license and demonstrate sufficient sailing experience.

7. Charterer’s Obligations
Conduct: Charterers and guests must follow all yacht rules, maritime regulations, and the captain’s instructions.
Prohibited Activities: Illegal substances, smoking indoors, and exceeding yacht capacity are prohibited.
Damage Liability: The charterer is responsible for any damages caused by negligence or misuse. Repair costs may be deducted from the security deposit.

8. Insurance
Yacht Insurance: The yacht is covered by comprehensive insurance, including liability insurance. This does not cover personal belongings, so we recommend travel insurance.
Third-Party Liability: Any liability coverage is limited to the amount specified by our insurance policy.
Personal Belongings: Please note that personal items are not covered under our insurance policy. Consider separate travel insurance for personal effects.

9. Health and Safety Requirements
Health Conditions: Guests with medical conditions that may impact their safety should inform us before boarding.
Safety Briefing: A mandatory safety briefing will be conducted prior to departure, covering emergency procedures and basic yacht safety.
Emergency Protocols: In case of an emergency, follow the crew or captain’s instructions promptly.

10. Liability and Indemnity
Limitation of Liability: CALYIA YACHTING is not liable for delays, adverse weather, or mechanical issues beyond our control.
Customer Indemnity: The charterer agrees to indemnify CALYIA YACHTING and its crew from any claims or damages arising from their actions during the charter.

11. Route and Itinerary
Planned Itinerary: We’ll provide a proposed route, but this is subject to change depending on weather conditions and safety.
Captain’s Discretion: The captain has full discretion to adjust the route or change locations to ensure safety and comfort.

12. Onboard Behavior and Noise Restrictions
Please respect the yacht, its equipment, and other guests onboard. Noise restrictions may apply when docking in specific marinas or coastal areas to respect local regulations and neighbors.

13. Pets and Children
Our policy on pets and age requirements for children varies by yacht. Please inquire at the time of booking if you wish to bring pets or are traveling with young children.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of [Greece/the EU]. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved in the courts of [Greece/your specified jurisdiction].

15. Photography and Media Use
We may take photos or videos of the yacht experience for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please inform us in advance.

16. Privacy and Data Protection

17. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
CALYIA YACHTING reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions with appropriate notice to charterers. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website.
